The great man who is rich from huminity not wealth.

છે જે ધનથી અમીર ને,

નથી નિભાવી માનવતા,

કહેવાય તે મોટા માણસ.

છે જે ધનથી ગરીબ ને,

નિભાવ્યો માનવધર્મ,

કહેવાય તે નાના માણસ.

માણસની માણસાઈ મોટી નથી અહીંયા,

છે મોટી નામના માણસાઈથી ગરીબ ધનિકોની.

              ઘણી વખત એવું સાંભળવા મળે છે કે આ બહુ મોટા માણસો છે ને તે તો બહુ નાના માણસો છે. લોકો ક્યા અર્થમાં મોટા અને નાના માણસોનો ભેદ કરે છે તે સમજાતું નથી. મોટાભાગે લોકો ધન અને વૈભવની દ્રષ્ટિએ મોટા અને નાના માણસોનો ભેદ કરે છે, તેમાં જીવી રહેલી માણસાઈના આધારે નહીં.

              તેને એક વાત પરથી યોગ્ય રીતે સમજી શકાશે.એક વૃદ્ધ દંપતી રસ્તા પરથી પસાર થઈ રહ્યું હતું. અચાનક વૃદ્ધ પુરુષને છાતીમાં દુખાવો થવા લાગ્યો. વૃદ્ધ સ્ત્રીએ થોડે આગળ એક વૃક્ષ નીચે પોતાના પતિને બેસાડી પસાર થતા વાહનોને રોકી મદદ માંગવા નીકળી. રસ્તા પરથી પસાર થતી મોટી ગાડીઓમાં બેઠેલા લોકો વૃદ્વ દંપતીની લાચારી જોઈ ના જોઈ કરી આગળ નીકળી ગયા, કોઈ તેમને જોઈને ઉભા રહ્યા પણ મદદ માટે તૈયાર ના થયા. વૃદ્ધની તકલીફ વધતી જતી હતી ને લાચાર બનીને તેની પત્ની રસ્તાની વચ્ચે ઉભી રહી મદદની ભીખ માંગતી રહી. નિરાશ થયેલી તે સ્ત્રીને આખરે એક આશાનું કિરણ દેખાયું. એક રિક્ષાચાલક વૃદ્ધ દંપતીની પીડા સમજી ક્ષણભરનો પણ વિચાર કર્યા વગર તેમની નજીક જઈને રિક્ષાની પાછળની સીટ પર રહેલો સામાન ઉતારી નાખ્યો. વૃદ્ધને પોતાનો સહારો આપી રિક્ષામાં બેસાડ્યા અને તે દંપતીને સમયસર હોસ્પિટલ પહોંચાડ્યા. રિક્ષાચાલકે હોસ્પિટલમાં ફાઈલ કરાવી, જરૂરી દવાઓ પહોંચાડી અને વૃદ્ધ સ્ત્રીને સાંત્વના પણ આપતા રહ્યા કે તેના પતિને ઝડપથી સારૂ થઈ જશે.વૃદ્ધની સારવાર કરી ડૉક્ટર જયારે બહાર આવ્યા ત્યારે કહ્યું કે, "સમયસર ના પહોંચ્યા હોત તો ઘણું મોડું થઈ જાત.."રિક્ષાચાલકે માણસાઈની શ્રીમંતાઈથી માનવતા મહેંકાવી.તે ખરેખર મોટો માણસ હતો કે જેને પોતાના સામાન અને સમય કરતા બીજાની પીડા દુર કરવાનું કાર્ય યોગ્ય લાગ્યું.અને ગાડીઓમાં માણસોના મુખવટા પહેરેલા યાંત્રિક લોકો કે જેમની પાસે સમય ન હતો તે ખૂબ નાના માણસો હતા.

           ટૂંકમાં, જે ધનથી સમૃદ્ધ છે અને માણસાઈથી ગરીબ છે તે મોટો માણસ નથી. પણ, જે માનવતા મહેંકાવે, જે પોતાની અંદરના માણસને જીવતો રાખે અને માનવતાની સેવા કરે તે મોટો માણસ છે.

  It is often heard that these are very big men and they are very small men.  People do not understand the difference between big and small men.  Most people differentiate between big and small men in terms of wealth and luxury, not on the basis of the humanity they live in.

 It can be properly understood from one story. An old couple was passing by on the road.  Suddenly the old man began to have chest pains.  A little further on, the old woman put her husband under a tree and stopped the passing vehicles to seek help.  The people sitting in the big cars passing by the road did not see the helplessness of the elderly couple and went ahead, no one was standing looking at them but they were not ready to help.  The old man's troubles were getting worse and worse and his wife was standing in the middle of the road begging for help.  The disappointed woman finally saw a ray of hope.  A rickshaw driver, realizing the pain of the elderly couple, approached them without even thinking for a moment and unloaded the luggage in the back seat of the rickshaw.  He put the old man in a rickshaw and rushed the couple to the hospital on time.  The rickshaw driver filed a case at the hospital, delivered the necessary medicines and also consoled the old woman that her husband would get better quickly.  Humanity was overwhelmed. He was a really big man who thought it was better to relieve the pain of others than his own luggage and time.And the people like machines wearing the masks of men who didn't have time were very small men.

 In short, one who is rich in wealth and poor in huminity is not a great man.  Also, the one who inspires humanity, the one who keeps the huminism inside him alive and serves humanity is a great man.
