Weakness of society:child labour

 મારે પણ જવુ છે શાળાએ,

પણ, ભણવા મળ્યું જીવનની શાળામાં.

હાથમાં પકડવી હતી પેન ને પેન્સિલ,

પણ, જીવને તો શીખવાડી નવી જ કળા.

મારે પણ જીવવું છે મારા બાળપણને,

પણ, મજબૂરીએ તો સીધા મોટા જ બનાવ્યા.

            જેવી રીતે ભવ્ય ઇમારત માટે પાયા મજબૂત હોવા જરૂરી છે, તેવી જ રીતે એક સારા જીવનનો આધાર નિર્દોષ અને ખેલતું-કૂદતું બાળપણ છે. એક વ્યક્તિના જીવનનો આધાર તેનું બાળપણ છે. કેમકે, તે અવસ્થામાં જોયેલું, શીખેલું, અનુભવની છાપ તેની ઉછરતી માનસિક અવસ્થામાં કાયમ માટે અંકિત થઈ જાય છે. દેખીતું જ છે કે બાળકને સારૂ વાતાવરણ મળે તો તે સારૂ જ શીખે છે અને નબળા વાતાવરણમાંથી આપણે તેની પાસે સારા બનવાની અપેક્ષા ના રાખી શકીએ.

             એક જાગૃત નાગરિક તરીકે આપણા સૌની ફરજ બને છે કે કોઈ હોટેલ -રેસ્ટોરન્ટ, કારખાના કે કોઈ પણ ક્ષેત્રે નાના બાળકોને મજૂરી કરતા અટકાવીએ.બાળમજૂરીને અટકાવાના પ્રયાસો કરીએ.કોઈ છોટુ ને હાથમાં પેન કે પેન્સિલ મળી રહે તેવું કંઈક કરીએ.બાળપણથી જ બાવડાઓ પર કમાવાની જવાબદારીનો બોજ તેની માસુમિયત છીનવી લે છે ને ઉંમર કરતા બાળકો વહેલા મોટા બની જાય છે.નાનપણથી ખરાબ વાતાવરણમાં ઉછરતા બાળકોને નથી મળતી શિક્ષા કે સંસ્કાર. મોટા થઈને તેઓ ગુનાખોરીને માર્ગે જ આગળ વધવાના છે.

              મે એક જગ્યાએ વાંચેલુ કે એક કોલેજમાંથી વિદ્યાર્થીઓને એક પ્રોજેક્ટ મળેલો. તેમાં વિદ્યાર્થીઓએ ઝુપડપટ્ટીમાં રહેતા બાળકોની દૈનિક ક્રિયાનો અભ્યાસ કરીને તેમનું ભવિષ્ય કેવું હશે તે નોંધવાનું હતું.વિદ્યાર્થીઓએ બધા બાળકોની સવાર થી સાંજ સુધીની ક્રિયા તેમની વર્તણુકનો અભ્યાસ કર્યો અને તારણ પર આવ્યા કે બધા જ બાળકો ભવિષ્યમાં ચોરી -લૂંટફાટ અને ગુનાખોરીને માર્ગે વળશે.હવે આ વિદ્યાર્થીઓનો પ્રોજેક્ટ અહીં પૂરો થયો. થોડા વર્ષો પછી જયારે પેલા બાળકો મોટા થયા ત્યારે બીજા વિદ્યાર્થીઓના ગ્રુપને આ પ્રોજેક્ટ અંતર્ગત બાળકોનું નોંધાયેલું ભવિષ્ય અને હાલના જીવનમાં શું તફાવત છે તેનો અભ્યાસ કરવાનું કાર્ય સોપાયું. બધાના આશ્ચર્ય વચ્ચે તે તમામ બાળકોના નોંધાયેલા ખરાબ ભવિષ્યથી વિપરીત બન્યું. કોઈ બાળક ડૉક્ટર તો કોઈ એન્જીનીયર તો કોઈ શિક્ષક તો કોઈ સામાજિક કાર્યકર બન્યા હતા.આ વિદ્યાર્થીના ગ્રુપે તેમાંથી એકને જિજ્ઞાસા સહ પૂછ્યું કે આવું કઇ રીતે સંભવ બન્યું?ત્યારે ભૂતકાળમાં ગરીબીમાં સબડતું બાળપણ અને હાલ પ્રતિષ્ઠિત જીવન જીવી રહેલ યુવાને જવાબ આપતા કહ્યું, " જો અમારા બાળપણને સારો પથદર્શક ના મળ્યો હોત તો અમે પણ ગુનાખોરીને માર્ગે વળત." વાસ્તવમાં એક શિક્ષિકાએ બાળકોમાં અક્ષરજ્ઞાનની સાથે સંસ્કાર રોપ્યા.તેને પોતાના કર્મની સુવાસથી બાળકોનો પથ તો ઉજાળ્યો, સાથે સાથે સમાજમાં થતા દુષણને જન્મ લેતા અટકાવી સમાજની સેવા કરી.

       ઉપરોક્ત ફોટોમાં એક નાની બાળકીને  દોરડા પર ચાલવા માટે સમતોલન જાળવવા વજનદાર લાકડી હાથમાં લેવી પડે તો આ સમાજનું સમતોલન કઇ રીતે થશે? દુઃખની વાત તો એ છે કે તેની મજબૂરી માટે વિકસાવેલી કળા આપણા માટે મનોરંજનનું સાધન બને છે.

ENGLISH TRANSLATION

I also want to go to school,

 But, learned in the school of life.

 Had to hold pen and pencil in hand,

 But, life teaches a new art.

 I also want to live my childhood,

 But, the compulsion directly made the big ones.

Just as a grand building needs a strong foundation, so the foundation of a good life is an innocent and playful childhood.  The basis of a person's life is his childhood.  Because, the impressions seen, learned, experienced in that state are permanently imprinted in his growing mental state.  It is obvious that a child learns well if he gets a good environment and we cannot expect him to do well from a poor environment.

As a conscious citizen, it is our duty to prevent young children from working in any hotel-restaurant, factory or any other field. Let's try to prevent child labor.  The burden takes away their innocence and children grow up earlier than their age. Children who grow up in a bad environment from childhood do not get education or culture.  Growing up, they are going to go on the path of crime.

         I read somewhere that students from a college got a project.  In it, the students had to study the daily activities of the children living in the slums and note how their future would be. The students studied the activities of all the children from morning to evening and came to the conclusion that all the children will turn to theft-robbery and crime in the future. Now the project of these students  Finished here.  A few years later, when the children grew up, another group of students was assigned the task of studying the differences between the children's recorded future and present lives under the project.  To everyone's surprise it turned out to be the opposite of the reported poor future of all the children.  They became a doctor, an engineer, a teacher, or a social worker. The group of students curiously asked one of them how this was possible? Then the young man, who had a poor childhood in the past and now lives a dignified life, replied, "If our childhood had not been given good guidance, we too would have turned to crime."  In fact, a teacher inculcated the virtues along with literacy in the children. She lit the path of the children with the scent of her karma, and also served the society by preventing the birth of evils in the society.

  In the above photo, if a little girl has to hold a heavy stick to maintain balance to walk on the rope, how will this society be balanced?  The sad thing is that the art developed for her compulsion becomes a means of entertainment for us.
